Airport transportation
Driving distance in between the Four Seasons Hotel, New Orleans to New Orleans Airport (MSY) is 13 miles. It takes approximately 18 minutes during minimal traffic.
Taxi
There is a cab stand right outside of the airport on level 1, baggage claim door 7. Fares are approximately $36 each way for one or two people. Additional people are approximately $15 each. There is a $1 per bag fee. This fare is good from the airport to anywhere in the city of New Orleans. Fees/charges are regulated by the city and are subject to change.
Uber/Lyft Rideshare Services
You can also easily order an Uber or Lyft when you land at the New Orleans airport. Located on level 1, there is a designated spot for rideshare pick-ups. It is conveniently outside of baggage claim at the middle curb, so grab your suitcase and meet your driver. Trips to and from the airport with start and end locations can run $36 and up, depending on the time of day and the vehicle type you select. Here are specifics provided to us by the airport, for both:
Lyft has launched Fast Match at MSY. Request a Lyft ride as you typically would through the app, and if available, you'll see a new screen pop up in your app. Tap to get a unique four-digit code, and follow the directions to the Lyft Fast Match line, designated for Fast Match riders. A Lyft ambassador will be there to assist you if it is being offered when you arrive. Lyft riders should exit Doors 7-9 and cross the walkway to the middle curb.
If booking Uber upon arrival, request an UberX to receive a 6-digit PIN. Walk to the Uber pickup zone and join the line. Share your unique PIN with the first available driver and verify the vehicle, driver and details before you get in. You can also reserve your ride up to 30 days in advance, so you know your ride is taken care of before you arrive. Uber will automatically adjust your reservation based on the flight information you provide, so your driver is ready and waiting at the airport when your flight lands -whether it's on time, early or delayed. Even though your ride will be requested for you when you land, it'll only come pick you up when you're ready. With options for pickup in 20 minutes, 10 minutes or as soon as possible. Uber's “Ready When You Are” feature allows riders to select a pickup time depending on how long they think it'll take for them to get off the flight and gather their luggage.
Uber riders should exit Doors 9-11 and cross the walkway to the middle curb.
*For non-UberX requests, request when you have your bags and are ready to go. You will meet your driver on the middle curb outside of Baggage Claim at Zone 3. Verify vehicle and driver details before you get into the vehicle.
Things to Consider
Chandelier Bar: While the spirits are the stars, the Champagne, caviar, and regional bites are not to be missed. Savor a sip from their collection of fine bubbly, with some choices dating back to the 1950s. The crown jewel here is the namesake Chandelier Martini. Enjoy live music on Thursday, 6-9PM.
*For those still in town on Sunday, head to Miss River for a jazz brunch from 10:30am-3:00pm.
Le Pass: Get the “Le Pass” app for your smartphone and have unlimited “hop on and off” privileges on all 3 forms of RTA transportation in the city: Bus, Streetcar & Ferry! With one app available on both Google Play & the Apple App Store, guests can access single rides to multiple day passes on public transportation throughout New Orleans with just a few clicks.
*Hotel Staff Recommended Trolley Ride: The St. Charles streetcar. From our hotel, the walk to the St. Charles streetcar is 5 blocks straight up Poydras to St. Charles Avenue. St Charles Avenue is beautiful and is lined with Oak trees and century-old mansions. They recommend taking the line all the way to Audubon Park.
VIP City Tours: This city and cemetery tour is 2 hours long and has hotel pick up!
New Orleans Tours: Various tours in New Orleans from 9/19 – 9/22 ranging from 1 hour to 5+. Walking tours, foodie tours, voodoo and haunts, architecture, a 2 hour steamboat jazz cruise and everything in between!
